Command 5

Command 5

You shall not kill

Perhaps you thought you had this commandment under control; however, cruel words and unkind acts can feel life killing.  Keeping Command 5 is more than merely avoiding manslaughter. This command requires us to care for our neighbors’ every bodily need.  How can you keep this command on campus?

God, God, God

God, God, God

Thou shall not use the name of God in vain.

This is more than merely using God’s name as a curse word.  It is an invitation to use God’s name as a blessing in your life and in the life of those around you.  How can you use your language (including the name of God) in ways that honor God?  Join us this week at 8p at the Wesley Center to continue the conversation.

This year as a means of creating a culture of Belonging, we are launching a YouTube spiritual formation initiative. The first series is named Commandments for College and examines the 10 commandment as a vehicle for navigating life on campus. In this week’s video Pastor Chu provides an introduction to the series and offers a question for you to consider.

You are invited to join us this Sunday from 12-1 for Bands and Burgers at 1120 S Harrison Road for our kick off event. Don’t miss the live music and free food. Vegetarian options available.
